The Adoration Trilogy
The Adoration Trilogy (officially titled The Adoration Trilogy: Searching for Apollo) was birthed by celebrity photographer (and now friend, Ailstair Morrison) alongside The Who frontman Roger Daltrey in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Presented as a massive 4-by-5-meter altarpiece-style mixed-media triptych containing over 40 panels and featuring more than 60 to 70 iconic music legends styled and posed as street buskers. A jukebox is placed at the base of the structure so visitors can listen to music while viewing the piece. Over 60 legendary musicians took part, including Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Alice Cooper, Tom Jones, and members of The Who and The Rolling Stones.
As part of this monumental project, a week before the unveiling, on the 6th of November 2017 (on to be honest a freezing cold afternoon!), I had the honour of busking with none other than Rod Stewart in Piccadilly Circus. A video that has since gone viral and is pretty much in any corner of the busking Internet world.
The following week, on the 13th November, I was invited to perform for the official unveiling at the V&A Museum in front of all the legends mentioned above (Roger Daltrey, John Paul Jones, Alice Cooper, Tom Jones, Paul Weller, Ray Davies and many more). I was to perform three iconic songs: ‘The Sound of Slience’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and ‘Ashes to Ashes’ and I loved every second of it. I even got the chance to chat with John Paul Jones, bassist of Led Zeppelin, who is one of my personal idols.
What an experience!
